OPI (Online Poker
Inspector, or more specifically, Online Holdem Inspector) is
a real time instructor that makes decisions off of real time odds
and pre-programmed instructions. OPI itself is not the "Poker Bot"
and relies on aftermarket "clickers" to execute its decisions. None
of the default profiles seem to be winners and it has several big
draw backs that I will list below.
1. Cannot read the bet
size of opponents or your own stack size, so for all practical
purposes bots that use OPI can only play Limit Poker. The
traffic at the Limit games is very sparse these days. Outside of the
weekends, its hard to even find a game. No Limit is the game you
need to be playing.
2. Requires purchase of
two products instead of one, and OPI is a bit overpriced. The Poker
Bot itself is a a "clicker" that reads the signals output by OPI.
Every time there is a poker room upgrade, you now have to wait for
both parties to update their software to operate your bot again. And
the OPI guys are a bit slow with the fixes.
3. Severely limited in
the information that it gathers. You have no way of respecting who
the aggressor is in the hand, as OPI has no memory of actions on any
previous "street" resulting in a lot of donk bets. Last time I
looked at this program it wasn't able to discern your relative
position to your active opponents, or even tell you how many were
still in the hand on post-flop betting rounds. It is virtually
impossible to be a profitable poker player (human or robot) above
the very lowest micro stakes, without access to this information.
